Carbon block filters are water filtration systems that utilize activated carbon to remove impurities and contaminants from water. They come in two different forms, coconut shell activated carbon and coal activated carbon. The coconut shell activated carbon has a higher iodine value (1000) compared to the coal activated carbon (400), making it more effective in purifying water.
- Dimensions: The filters have an outer diameter of 65mm/2.5″ and an inner diameter of 1.1″. They are 10″ in length.
- Micron rating: The filters have a micron rating of 5 or 10 microns.
- Operating temperature: The filters can operate within a temperature range of 4-52℃.
- Maximum operating pressure: The filters can handle a maximum operating pressure of 100psi.
- Maximum flow rate: The filters can handle a maximum flow rate of 5 gallons per minute (GPM) at a pressure of 1.5-2 kg/cm2.
- Filtration life: The coconut shell activated carbon filters have a filtration life of 4-6 months or 2500 gallons, while the coal activated carbon filters depend on the quality of the water and the level of contaminants.
The use of carbon block filters in water filtration systems provides several benefits, including:
- Improved water quality: By removing impurities and contaminants, carbon block filters improve the overall quality of the water.
- Increased safety: The removal of harmful contaminants from the water makes it safer for consumption and use.
- Long-lasting filtration: The filters have a long filtration life, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
- Wide compatibility: The filters are compatible with a wide range of water filtration systems and can be used in both residential and commercial applications.
